Description: The Russian Honeybee Screening AgriSeq panel is a small 81 SNP marker panel developed by Breeding Insight at University of Florida, in collaboration with Floragenex and the Honeybee Breeding Genetics and Physiology Research Unit of USDA in Baton Rouge, LA, funded by USDA-ARS for public use.

The markers were selected from previous research by the USDA-ARS to provide discrimination power between Russian and Italian honeybee lines. The panel can be used to determine the amount of outcrossing from germplasm pools outside of Russian Honeybee in the resultant colonies (true-to-type) and germplasm management applications. Access to the panel can be found on Floragenex website. The analytical aspect of line purity of this panel is complemented by the RHBreedTools app, developed by Breeding Insight to screen for Russian honeybee composition estimation in a point-and-click interface.

Results and Data Sharing: Use of this panel must go hand in hand with use of the panel software. The science for this software and panel is valid and robust.
