Make sure your plate/tube caps are very securely placed. Please make sure your plates are labeled, and those labels match the plate names on your sample tracking file. If sending multiple plates, please make stacks of up to 5 plates with pieces of cardboard as dividers, and hold together with rubber bands. (see photos)
Review our packing tips to help your parcel arrive quickly and safely at DArT.
Packing Your Samples
Place your samples inside a cardboard box, and add enough packing material to secure the plates and keep them from moving around.
Do not include dry ice in the parcel. Packing dry ice is considered a hazardous good and will delay your project significantly.
DNA can be shipped with or without ice or cold packs. Plant and animal tissue can be shipped at room temperature.
If you are concerned about DNA leakage in transit, you may lyophilize your samples, or use a heat sealer instead of caps. Be sure to let us know so that we can notify DArT of the sample condition in advance.
